Year 7 Pupils Commended for Exemplary Behaviour and Positive Attitude to Learning

This weekend, we were delighted to receive some lovely feedback from two members of the public commending our pupils’ exemplary behaviour during a recent school trip to the stunning Bicton Park Botanical Gardens.

“Dear Sir or Madam, My wife and I had the pleasure of going to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens yesterday, Friday June 15th, and were quickly aware that there was a party of students from Exeter Cathedral School with 2 members of staff also at the site.

I just wanted to say what a lovely group of young people they were, and what a good impression of the School they portrayed.

Sometimes they were seen in small groups, clip boards in hand and unsupervised, collecting data through self-directed learning.

At another moment, they were all being escorted into the Kew-like greenhouse as a large group, following sitting on the grass having lunch.

At all occasions they demonstrated self discipline whilst also “having fun” at an amazing location. Where an “adult steer” was required, it was done in a discreet and calm way, and students responded positively.

The group should be commended for their behaviour and positive attitude to learning. It was a pleasure to share the garden space with them and the School staff.”

Well done, Year 7, and a big thank-you to Mrs Reavill and Miss Norris for organising this fantastic trip!
