The last week before half term holidays did not disappoint, we have been enjoying the last of the cricket season and making huge steps forward in our understanding and performance of game play. It has been really exciting to watch the girls starting a new sport, their encouragement and support of each other has been lovely and the boys have added to their previous skill bank and will now be a force to be reckoned with come the summer term.
In PE the pupils have been working hard on their core stability and balance, we have also been getting creative in Pre Prep where we have introduced ribbons for Cross Curricular learning.
As the weather changes, in Games, we will be solely concentrating on our traditional sports of the Michaelmas term. Boys will continue their rugby and we are very excited to be back training on our Home Astroturf pitches at Exeter University where the girls will play hockey.
Thank you for all your efforts this half of term, it’s has been a very successful sporting term with huge strides being made in individual progress. Without competitive fixtures the pupils have really benefited from extra training and I feel they have developed their skills and understanding much more that we ever expected.
A huge thank you to my department too, who have worked tirelessly putting systems in place to make sure Games, PE, FMS and Wellbeing run seamlessly for the pupils so their experience is of the standard we expect at ECS.
Have a wonderful half term break.
