Last Saturday morning ECS Year 6 rugby and hockey teams hosted a touring side from West Buckland School. Both matches were very closely contested with the boys making some really impressive tackles and the girls showing very creative link up play before scoring. Well done everyone on a very encouraging display of skills and sportsmanship.
This week the pupils of ECS showed true determination, the weather in our Games lessons was testing but everyone showed their resilience. It was a busy week with every pupil in the prep school playing in a fixture, some pupils even played twice in their Games lessons.
Wednesday brought about a block fixture against St Peter’s in both hockey and rugby. All pupils in years 5-8 did extremely well, a mixed bag of results with lots of fun along the way. The senior boys had the opportunity to have a masterclass with Sam Morley from The Chiefs as part of their rugby festival at Exeter School, a very exciting afternoon indeed.
On Thursday 3rd October it was the Year 3 and 4 pupils’ time to shine. The U9 boys were hosts to St Johns and Bramdean in a triangular fixture whilst the U8 boys travelled to Blundell’s for a very soggy, but thoroughly enjoyable, tag rugby festival. Meanwhile the U8 and U9 girls hosted St Johns at Exeter University and all 28 girls had the chance to rotate and play in the matches.
Well done everyone on a fantastic week and thank you for all those who came to support, especially in the rain!
We look forward to hosting 6 schools at our U8 and U9 hockey and rugby festival next week, as well as lots of matches against Blundell’s School.
