Year 2 have been studying Verna Aardema’s wonderful rhyming story about the drought that strikes the Kapiti Plain. In response to reading ‘Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain’, Elliot produced two fantastic drawings featuring the Plain’s wildlife, grasslands, acacia trees and tribal huts.
Elliot also took to replicating the story’s protagonist, Ki-pat, by standing on one leg while watching over his herd of cattle with a Masai-style cloak. Well done, Elliot!
