Music and chocolate – this week at the Boarding House

⭐️ Star Boarders

Eduardo and Jemima are our Star Boarders this week. Jemima only boards a few times in the term but, every time she does, she is fabulous. Eduardo, who usually boards once a week, sometimes more, boarded twice this week. On both nights, he showed kindness towards his peers and the staff, he also showed maturity and independence by keeping his dorm tidy and by always being on time. Well done, both.

🎶 Music in the Boarding House

As you know, a big portion of our boarders are choristers and excellent musicians. In addition to singing, some of our boarders play several instruments. In order to practise their instruments, we have two daily sessions dedicated to music practice, one in the morning before school and one in the evening before bed. All these sessions are very important, and it is lovely to hear all these instruments being played in the Boarding House each day and witness the improvement being made by all the children.

On Wednesday, Henry C and Ellenna C (Year 7) took part in the Strings Performers’ Platform and they did really well. On Thursday, some of our musicians also had their ABRSM examinations. It has been a busy week for our musicians.

🍫 Chocolate fun!

On Wednesday evening, Ms Baxendale, our Boarding Matron, organised a “chocolaty” evening for our boarders. In the last stretch before the Easter holiday, the children made some delicious chocolate treats.
