Sometimes, at the weekend, the Boarding House can be a bit quieter compared to during the week. Last weekend was one of those weekends where only a few boarders were in, and we made the most of it to go to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter. It was lovely to see the excitement and smiles on their faces. In the evening, we had a lovely family dinner in the Bistrot 💙
Part of all the fun this week was the “dumpling evening” organised by our wonderful catering team, Thomas Franks. As you can probably see from the pictures, it was a real treat for everyone and, may I say, these dumplings were some of the best I have ever had 🥟
During our last Boarding Council meeting, the boarders asked if we could get a new board game. We received Uno a few days ago and we have been having a lot of fun playing it. A great addition to the boarders’ long activities list!
On Thursday evening, we celebrated Gen’s birthday a few days late. Thanks to Jo’s amazing baking skills, Gen and all the boarders got to eat a delicious chocolate cake 🎂
Our Star Boarder this week is Milo. On Thursday evening, I reminded all the boarders why we choose a star boarder each week and asked them one question: what does the boarding team look for in a star boarder? Milo put his hand up and asked if he could speak to everyone. He stood up and made a very long list of things that were expected from boarders, from being kind to each other to working hard on prep and music practice. Ms. Baxendale and I were very impressed by Milo’s taking leadership and addressing all the boarders with confidence and energy, reinforcing the ECS habits. Well done, Milo.
