FECS Letter 22nd June

I think every would agree that this year’s fete was a huge success, with a wonderful turn out of visitors on the day despite the very variable weather. The final figures are still being calculated, but we expect that the profit made on the day is around £3,000.  This is a fantastic amount and the day would not have been possible without  all of your support.  Thank you to everybody who contributed their time leading up to the weekend, on the Friday sorting items, early Saturday morning setting up, running stalls during the event and clearing down.  Also to all of you who contributed stall donations, cakes and raffle prizes etc.

As well as the fete we also had the final Hall House cake sale of the year last week.  This was hosted by year 2 who raised a whopping £204.10 which secured their place as winners of the cake sale competition. Well done Year 2!

Some of you might have noticed that the library is currently undergoing some redecoration, to compliment this FECS have purchased some wonderful furniture from Community Playthings which has been funded by a recent generous donation.  We look forward to the unveiling of the library once it is completed.  In addition to this, funds have now been pledged towards the playground improvements for The Chantry, which we hope will be able to commence soon.

I hope you all have a great weekend,

Best wishes,

Cleofe (Chair) & The FECS team.
