Boarding: a happy and welcoming community

A happy and welcoming community

This week was a very special week for the Boarding family. On Thursday evening, we had 22 children booked to board, which is the highest number of boarders we have had on a normal school night since before the pandemic. This is fantastic news for the boarding family which keeps getting bigger and bigger. This, obviously, would not be possible without a happy and welcoming community, as well as the hard work of a wonderful team, so thank you and well done everyone.

In the Boarding House, we always try to offer a great variety of activities in the evenings to make sure the boarders are happy and enjoying quality time together. The Boarding Council members met again this week to review the activities on offer and suggest new ones for next term.

The activities go from playground games such as hide and seek, to more physical games such as football and dodgeball, to more creative and crafty activities such as baking and knitting. This week, for example, we had a go at making pompoms.
On Wednesdays, when Mr Featherstone is on duty, the activity is called “Task Master” and the children absolutely love the tasks and corridor challenges that the Headmaster prepares for them.

⭐️ Star Boarder

This week, our Star Boarder is Margot (Year 7). Margot is known from children and staff for being an extremely kind and helpful boarder. She looks after everyone, including staff, and never needs prompting to stay behind and help tidying when required. On top of that, Margot is a hard worker who completes prep to the best of her ability and works ever so hard on her music practice. Well done, Margot.

Crealy trip: two spaces left

This weekend, unfortunately, and because of very poor weather conditions, we have had to cancel the mountain biking trip and replace it with one of our boarders’ favourites: iBounce.

If you would like to take part in the Crealy trip next weekend, there are two spaces left. Let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at [email protected]

Have a wonderful and safe weekend,
