This week has been extremely busy for the pupils, both on and off the sporting field. With lots of gymnastics happening in PE lessons, swimming lessons in full flow and our Sports Enrichment group working hard towards their scholarship assessments days, it’s certainly all systems go. That’s not to mention our full fixture list of rugby and hockey for Year 3-8.

On Wednesday 25th September the U12 and U13 pupils made the long journey to Shebbear College, although the windy roads were somewhat of a challenge, the games were thoroughly enjoyable and all pupils represented ECS brilliantly in both rugby and hockey.

The U10 and U11 pupils took on Exeter School. We hosted the hockey at Crediton and had some really encouraging games with rolling substitutions, lots of fun and lots of match play for all the girls. The boys travelled around the corner to Exeter School and had equally enjoyable fixtures with some wonderful tries being scored.

The U8 and U9 pupils kick started their season last Thursday with matches against Mount Kelly. We hosted at our home grounds of the University astroturf pitches for hockey and for rugby it was the picturesque County Ground. There were many smiles and lots of cheering when goals and tries were scored, a very enjoyable afternoon had by all, with yummy match teas to follow.

We are also proud of our amazing link with Energie Fitness, 16 of our boys were able to attend a circuit class and also use the cardio machines to work on their fitness during their Games lesson this week.
