We have been back to school merely a week and the ECS sportsmen and women have plenty to report. PE lessons have started with a real enthusiasm for gymnastics, plenty of ‘star of the day awards’ being deservedly achieved. Our Health and Well-being Carousel is in full flow and our Sports Enrichment Group hit the ground running on Tuesday morning with some reaction ball games and a ‘core’ circuit.

On the Games field girl’s hockey and boy’s rugby have been dusting off the cobwebs at Exeter University hockey pitches and Exeter Cricket Club. Our fixture list commenced this week with the U13 boys rugby travelling to Blundell’s, two great games and some encouraging play from ECS.

The U11 & U10 girls played a triangular against Blundell’s and Taunton School. Lots of hockey for all the girls in the year group and some excellent results.

On Thursday it was our U9 girls and boys time to shine at a rugby and hockey festival at St Peter’s. A really enjoyable afternoon for all involved and a really fun way to start the term.

Well done to all pupils, showing a willingness to learn, and bucket loads of enthusiasm. I can tell it’s going to be a great term of sport.
