FECS Letter 25th May

Our annual auction and wine tasting was a great success last week.  The wine tasting was hosted by local sommelier Iain from Smith’s wine shop in St Leonard’s with the auction being run by the fantastic Christopher Hampton.  It was a fabulous evening of enjoying good food and wine whilst raising money for the new Chantry playground.  The evening raised approximately £2900 which I’m sure you’ll all agree is a fantastic amount!  Thank you to all of you who attended and placed bids and also to everyone who helped to organise the evening.

The summer fete which takes place on 16th June is fast approaching. Hopefully everyone has now received two books of raffle tickets which we hope you can help us sell.  There are some fantastic prizes this year, so if you you would like anymore then please contact us on [email protected].  Raffle ticket stubs and money should be returned to Hall House or The Chantry reception.

For the second year running we are giving each child a golden ticket which will allow them to enjoy 4 free activities at the fete.  These will be distributed the day before the fete.

We are now looking for volunteers and donations for the event and a letter has gone out on the portal today with all the details.  This year we have enabled the ability to sign up easily online for time slots using this link https://signupschedule.com/fecs , alternatively if you prefer the conventional method there will be sign up sheets as per previous years on the FECS noticeboard in Hall House and at reception in The Chantry.  These will be updated as regularly as possible.  Every year we are always short of volunteers so feel free to rope in family and friends…the more the merrier!

Finally, letters will be going out shortly for about mufti days in both Hall House and The Chantry.  In exchange for being able to come to school in mufti we ask that children bring in filled jam jars (with wrapped sweets, bouncy balls, erasers, hair clips etc) for the jam jar tombola and also boxes of chocolates, wine, lovely toiletry sets and anything that would make a good tombola prize.
