I lift up my eyes to the hills — whence will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121.1-2
This Psalm is often used in Remembrance services, and as I look up from my computer, my view of Dartmoor’s hills evokes the essence of this Psalm, somehow emphasising God’s vastness. Leading ECS as we paused to reflect and honour those who served was a true privilege.
To focus our thoughts, we watched a short film depicting the darkness of conflict, which led to the poppy’s emergence, symbolising hope and renewal.
The timing of Anti-Bullying Week following on from Remembrance somehow seemed appropriate, underscoring the need for compassion amid all challenges.
We welcomed Father Albert to assembly this week, enhancing our understanding of diverse beliefs.
These experiences enrich our community, from the humbling vastness of nature to honouring sacrifices and promoting empathy in the face of adversity.
