Joshua Patterson (‘JP’) – Samaritans mental health ambassador and Made In Chelsea star – is running a remarkable 76 marathons in 76 days, covering all of the 76 UK cities and, today, starting and finishing at Exeter Cathedral, he broke a world record – completing his 61st marathon.
Our pupils and staff were thrilled to see off JP and his companions this morning, returning later this afternoon to congratulate his remarkable achievement as he reached the cathedral with banners, balloons and lots of cheering!
We have been incredibly inspired by the reason behind all this:
“As someone who has been affected by mental illness over the years… it is simply unimaginable to have to face mental health problems alone. My goal is to raise £1,000,000 to help as many people going through these struggles as I possibly can, ensuring they get the support they crucially need…
This is set to be the most monumental challenge, both mentally and physically, I have ever set out to achieve. Let’s rewrite the narrative around mental health and together, we can save lives. Thank you.” – JP
